Our culture plays a significant role in shaping who we are. The more traditional we are, the more we tend to rely on our cultural cues to provide us with a sense of self.
But it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Our personas are a mosaic of various influences:our values, beliefs, behavior, education, and appearance. When we get overly attached to one culture to the point where we block out everything else, we close ourselves off to other realities and perspectives in the world.
The key to a balanced identity is learning how to blend different cultural influences. In this episode, I provide three ways you can create a balanced cultural identity and use it to your advantage in our global community.
